So I ordered my rotors calipers and pads from advanced auto parts all for a 86 trooper 2 to do the conversion to my 2wd 76 luv. But as I'm putting it all together I notice that the trooper caliper mounting bracket will not bolt up to the luv mounting holes. The trooper bracket was to thick and also the holes didn't line up. The rotors went on awesome but I'm wondering if maybe advanced just got me the later model trooper calipers by accident or what cause I know the 2wd and 4wd luv use the same exact caliper right?? And this conversion seemed bolt on to all the 4wd guys. Any help is appreciated thanks.

Little late to this thread but i just did the same trooper conversion on my 76 using 85 calipers, pads and rotors, and i can confirm that in order for this to work perfectly you also need to use the actual caliper mount brackets (not the bracket that comes with the caliper, but the actual plate that bolts up to the hub) off of a trooper. Now i found if you grind about 4-5 mm off the two high points on the caliper bracket (this time I am referring to the one that comes on the caliper, not the hub) they fit just fine. Of course the core is now worth nothing and has possibly lost a teeny tiny bit of structural integrity, but beats pulling my hair out over finding the trooper mounts....
