I suppose I need to take off the hub. Is there a spindle socket I will require? Will anything spring loaded blow apart?

Thanks

Nothing gonna blow apart. There is a spring in the locking mechanism but it wont send anything flying. Basic tools nothing special two allen wrenches & couple sockets.

Just a note for anyone who finds this in a search.

Hub bolts are 10mm, and a 1/4 drive socket works best because of close clearance. There is one snap ring. Used a flat head and snap ring pliers to remove and install. Kind of a pain not terrible. A few phillips screws to keep the retainer from letting the bearing out. I used a small punch to turn the retainer for the bearing out. Count and remember how many threads are visible before removing the bearing retainer thing. That way you know how tight to put it back Realigning the hub is tough. Make sure its in Free and everything is lined up real well.

If the hubs won't lock after you put them back together, dont force them, it bends a little thing (you can bend it back). It's not hard to make them turn again, just take hub plate back off and realign stuff until it slides on nicely. You can check to see if the hubs will lock before reinstalling the 10mm hub bolts. You don't need to take the wheel off or jack it up to realign it.
