The local Wal-Mart has stopped carrying the Fram PH3950 oil filter that fits LUV/Isuzu 1.8/1.9 engines. The last remaining one was on their clearance shelf. If you use these filters you may have to look for another source. It's possible they have another brand that will cross, I will check when I get a chance.

Just my opinion but I will never run a Fram. I stick with WIX.

I have seen more engines blown up because of a pressure relief valve in Fram filters than any other. I will not but them EVER again!

Already have a great source for oil filters. Stock Honda filters work great on all G180, G200, and the later 2.3 & 2.6 four cylinders. Been using them for years with no problems. Won't be running out of those any time soon.

I also won't touch a Fram. When I used to use them, my 79 would always rattle on start up until it refilled the filter. The anti-drain back valves didn't work so well. I switched to Purolator PureONE filters and have not looked back.

There are a lot of debates on the internet over filters, usually though Fram is on the losing end of those debates.

Here's a few that I've found by talking to various auto parts stores and manufacturer's websites:
Fram 3593A (I use this one-Doh!)
NAPA 1334
Purolator L10193
AC-Delco PF1177
WIX 85334
Motorcraft FL818

I have often thought about finding a filter that would bolt on with the right size gasket but would be bigger. Something with more internal filter surface area. I recall on the Toyota 22R motors that there was some other part number that fit that was physically about twice the size of the filter that was spec'd for that motor.

Any body know of a resource that lists specs of filter part numbers to compare?

Fram & NAPA both have a cross reference application.
FYI they're a good place to find small engine filters to use in place of the overpriced model-specific ones.
