Looks like it may end up being the head gasket as someone mentioned before. I should have just pulled the thing apart since that's always the first thing to go when I'm having issues. I'll have to have the head checked for cracks or being warped, which I'm sure it is. I'll take some pics of the gasket here in the next few weeks when I get a minute to pull it apart.

We always need new head bolts with this right? I'm fairly sure I've purchased new bolts every time I've replaced it.

Thanks guys!

Yeah when my dad and I rebuilt the thing 8 years ago we had everything done to it. But with the two, and now possibly three times, the head gasket has gone I'm sure something may be wrong with it. lol

Turns out the head gasket is fine. Looks like it's the wonderful radiator! Woo-hoo! Here goes a buck 80 to have it re cored.

All the shops around me are saying 3-500 to recore it. Not sure why it's so much. Anyone know of any other radiators that will fit in there?

measure it and figure out the overall size and the core size and check on summit and ebay and see what looks about right. you probably wont find one that fits like stock but fabricating some mounts isn't too big of a task

Still overheating, also have massive amounts of voltage problems suddenly. Lights get super dim, wipers slow down to barely moving, unless of course I accelerate then they get up to par. No idea if it's the battery, connections, alternator, or voltage regulator. Fun stuff!

Finally figured it out.... It was my stock gauge. It must have gotten fried after I had the alternator issue. Put in a mechanical gauge and now it doesn't go over 190 without a thermostat. Need to put the thermostat back in and see what happens.
