Hey Guys and Gals,
Anyone happen to know the thread pitch of the oil pressure switch for a 1980 Chevy LUV 4x4? I am trying to get my truck running and the switch is broke. My Fiancee's, Parent's, Neighbor has pipe plugs we are trying to use, but either the fittings have been too big or too small. I'm going to buy the right switch later, but trying to get the engine running this weekend for now. Thanks for your help, Aloha.

Okay, I was able to find the thread. For anyone who needs it, it is 1/8x27 thread pitch. I was searching the net, then ran down to the truck, but the Neighbor beat me to it. My Fiancee's Dad and I tried the 1/8x27 tap he had, was a self-bottoming one. The Neighbor's was a 1/8x27 tapered tap, so his worked. The thread's were a little gummed up, so they were cleaned. The Neighbor actually only had 1 pipe plug that fit, and he had it for a couple years, never finding a use for it. It's too late in the day here, so tomorrow the truck finally runs, after more than four years. Woo-hoo! Aloha.
