old clutch cable snapped in half. Ordered a new one and cannot get it to fit. With the cable adjusted all the way out from the firewall, its about 3/4" too short. I tried hooking it up at the pedal first and then to the tranny first, neither worked. Any suggestions?

Not sure I understand but---to make the internal cable longer you adjust it in to the firewall more, not out. I'm talking from the engine side.

The cable was seated good through the hole in the transmission. I pulled the expanding rubber protector through the hole and made sure that the metal stopper on the cable was seated against the tranny. I tried adjusting it both ways at the firewall as well. It would be my luck that I get a blem cable. Its a pioneer ca413 which is pretty standard it looks like. I shouldnt have to adjust anything to put a new cable on, I wouldnt think.
