im the one with the 80 4x4 luv with engine problems not yet figured out, but i have a chance to get a 1981 4x4 luv for parts cheap. i need a driveshaft and seat plus other odds and ends. will most all driveline parts interchange with my son's 80?? i know the body parts won't.will a distributor swap be a good idea?will the transmission and transfer case just bolt in??the engine i think is shot.is it worth 100.00??

thanks for the answers

most all of it should interchange. As far as the distributor swap goes i did this and wrote up a tech article on it. I think it was about the best thing i did to my truck. It added reliability and throtle response and even some power and econimy.

I appreciate the input on the driveline parts. Is there any difference in the cylinder heads or should that just be just a swap if I need to? The body I think is kind of rough. It got a tree at the bottom of the windshield and hasn't been driven for about six years. I think most of the driveline is in excellent condition. Do you think $100 is a fair price. A good friend of mind owns it.

RE: distributor swap

Is the swap the same to a 76 Luv?
if not what would be different?
