Recently bought a 1979 Chevy LUV and have a few noob questions. It's the stock engine and I was wondering where I can find parts for the stock carb, I don't even know what kind of carb it is to be honest. The truck doesn't seem to idle right.I was also wondering if there was a good place to get all new hardware for the alternator and what not because the guy before me threw together some crap and it doesn't really fly with me so I have no idea what was supposed to be there in the first place. Anyhow I would appreciate the help and thanks a lot guys.

The carb is more than likely the stock factory Hitachi model. You can still get rebuild kits for them at most auto parts stores although it will need to be ordered.
Alternator, either check auto parts stores or look on ebay.
If you don't already have one, pick up a factory service manual for your truck. They can be found on ebay also.

you wouldn't happen to have a picture of where all those vacuum lines go to on the carb? The truck has some cold air intake looking thing so a lot of those lines are capped off. I also just realized that the smog pump has been removed... What is the proper way to have it removed if possible?
