howdy new to this site but finaly found people into chevy luvs like me. anyway i got a question regarding timing chain tentioners. i have an 80 luv 4x4 and i currently replacing the timing chain. i have done a cuple but this one really stumps me as the tentioner is totaly different than what ive run into before. the ones im used to are small and spring loaded with a plastic lock like a screw. the one i have on my block is a cast peice that bolts onto the front of the block and is much bigger and built differently. my question is can i run the new tentioner was this some sort of desine change? its been a while since i did one and dont really remember how it goes on but with the one i got it would only be held on by the top peg wich an e clip

You could try rockauto.com. Otherwise I'm parting out this engine if you can't find one.
