I have an aftermarket voltage regulator. It doesn't seem to have any adjusting screws. I was stupid enough to let my truck set with the key on. When I went to start it the battery was dead. After I jumped it it was charging about 30 amps. It still was after a short drive and seemed to be up to the 14 volts is should have. I shut it off and put the battery charger on. Once the battery was charged, I started it and was still getting 30 amps. The points aren't stuck and open with the engine off. Is there any adjustment or should I dig out my receipt and whine warranty?

Make sure your looking at the right points. With the engine stopped the open points are for the fuel pump circuit. The regulating points are closed all the time except when regulating they vibrate with the engine running. With the engine running press down lightly on the regulating ones with your finger, the charging should drop off.
Most have a screw adjusment but some do not. On these you bend the small tab near the base where the end of the spring is attached to. Less tension lower voltage. Be aware that replacing the cover effects the setting a bit--trial and error deal.
Hope this helps.

I could hear the fuel pump relay close when I worked the one set. So if it is overcharging, I bend the tabs on the other one to give less tension? I have never had to mess with the voltage regulator much in the past.

Dug through my junk box and didn't find the original. I think I replaced a good working one due to misdiagnose of an alternator. $%^&(*&#$%*&

Yes, bend the one tab at the spring end fartherest from the points. I'm assuming there is a tab there, not just a mounting loop or post. In operation the regulator coil magnetic field pulls down on the points mounting causing them to seperate /open/vibrate. The spring tries to pull the points back closed again--the two things working against each other.
Regulator theory 101.

Well the deed is done. I often don't have good luck at a job like that. I am getting about 14 volts with the headlights on and the engine reved up.

I need to get out in the morning and make a short trip to run some errands. I will see how it does. I may have to make a longer trip and didn't want to burn anything up.
