I have an 80 luv 2wd that the parking brake cable froze up on in the rear. The cable loops around from the left and right rear wheels. What is that cable called? Everything I find is either called front upper cable or the front lower cable. Any thoughts?

I wasn't able to find a new one. I got one from a junk yard. Do you have a long or short bed?

I repaired my old one by adding a splice. It's been good for many years.

my thought would be to take the parking break cable in to a shop that specializes in cables and see what they can manufacture for you... shouldn't be to expensive

I was showing a mechanic at work my cable. (It's laying in the back of the truck.) I pointed at it and said, "They told me put this in the truck it will work fine, I did, see, it's not working ".

I had the same problem. Mine was frozen up. Really rusted. I bit the bullet and sent t to http://www.inlinetube.com the made me a new one. I works perfect. I opted for the stainless steel version. It cost more, but no more corrosion. I think it cost around $135. But this was several yrs ago. Give them a call for a quote. I could not find one and my truck would not pass inspection.
