I am just curious if anyone else has had a problem with the clutch pedal in their Luv. Mine apparently broke off at the pivot point and the previous owner welded it back in, not quite in the original position. I found a few Luvs in the wrecking yard and they all had the same problem. Is this common to these trucks? Mine is on the verge of breaking again and I'm working on making a new bracket to hold it. Any info about this problem or just opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Ken

mine broke on my 1980..... i tried to braze it back together and it held for a few more months. i ended up getting another from a junkers and welding in some 1/4 flat stock on the back for better support.

I just finished removing EVERYTHING from my cab and I found the clutch pedal mount welded up with braces and about an inch thick of weld! I didn't think much of it at the time, but after reading theses posts, HHMMMMMMM....

mine snapped on me. the one i picked up in the junkyard was welded too. it's a pain in the ass to fix since you don't have to much room to work with under the dash.

a buddy of mine fixed this problem perty well in his luv. He took the rail that the pedals are mounted on and swaped it whith a 90s pup one. On that it is ankored on both sides to the wall of the cab, thus the clutch isnt "floating".

I'm surprised to read this. My dad and I drove mine in stock form for 20 years and didn't have any trouble.

But from the amount of people that have had a problem, I can see it definitely was a factory flaw.
