My anti diesel solenoid spring was fine and when i got my DCP340 HITACHI carb back the spring is tweaked and mangled. we are seriously questioning if its the spring that we seen when the component was taken off and cleaned and checked and carefully put back on. i am left wondering a few things,

1)where can i get a replacement spring. does anyone have a GOOD spring around? what are the exact measurements it was because if i know the specs its supposed to be i may be able to find it online

2) the anti diesel solenoid consists of only the pin and spring and housing right?........or is it supposed to have something else in it?

3)The diamond shaped end where the idle air solenoid connects(the diamond shaped end ) to the carb is there supposed to be a gasket between the connections? and if yes does it come with the carb rebuild kit?

there were little cotter pins missing and defiantly will not let him under the hood again. i believe he knows to much about carbs since hes 71 and been doing carbs since 14 years old and it makes me furious that while i can not prove it that he went shopping off my carb

The anti dieseling solenoid has a hexagone shaped body with a single wire, and unscrews with a wrench. It's needle and spring is internal and part of the whole assembly. What you may be talking about sounds more like the coasting richer solenoid, has a round body with two wires on it and mounted to the carb with 3 screws? If so yes, it has a spring, a valve stem, and an O ring to seal against the carb. The carb kit may or may not come with these parts, I don't remember for sure.
Probably the best bet would be to find a donor used carb and take it from one of these. There are many folks on here changing over to aftermarket carbs and there should be some laying around someplace. Maybe salvage yards in your area?
