Are you getting spark from the coil? You can check this by~ disconnect the coil wire from the distributor cap and hold it near part of the frame/body, leaving a small gap. Have a friend turn the key, look for spark between wire and truck.**!!Note: You may get shocked!!**. If your getting spark from the coil to the distributor cap, reinstall the coil wire to cap. Next, remove #1 spark plug from cylinder head, then put the plug wire back on the plug holding the side/threads against the frame/body to ack as ground. Again, have a friend turn the key, look for a spark. If you don't have a spark at the plug, your probably off a tooth.
This a simple way to check for spark, atleast I have seen it checked this way and you can always swap places with your friend, again you may get shocked, it shouldn't kill you, but it will tingle. If you are getting spark at the plug, it could be a fuel delivery issue or maybe even a compression issue.
