So i got my 79 2wd from a junk yard. I put a 305 in it. With a 700R4 which i still have to figure out how to wire the lockup in.
But what im writing about is the truck has most of the wiring for the truck. An im trying to find the blinker wiring or what are the colors for the blinkers. I found the park an brake light wires can't seem to find the blinkers tho..
i replace the wiring harness with 7 round trailer wiring couse there was only 7 wires going back there.
An were do i find the wires for the HEI coil...
i been looking at the wiring diagrams on this site but there really hard to find an understand.

Coil wire for the stock 4 banger will work for the HEI, just don't use the ballast resistor, if it is still there. Don't know about the blinkers, and I used the kit in the link in my blazer for the 700r4, when you buy it, he will e mail you a diagram of what to do. Pretty easy...

Do you happen to know what color the wires are for the coil.... I've been looking at all kinds of sites for doing the lock up. Some say its all there already an just put a switch to it an run it to the dash. some say its better to use a kit.......... does it matter

Kit was easier for me, and I have had zero issues with it. IF you know what to rewire inside without the kit, and you have the right part that needs to be swapped (some do) you can use it ias is, just run the wire. And no, I don't know the stock coil wire colors, I don't use the stock wiring...

Yeah, the diagram for the LUV is the worst I have ever seen.

left turn signal, green/black
Right turn signal, green/blue
coil +, black/yellow
