My 75 has been running great all week then at a stoplight it just shuddered and died and would not restart. It would not even crank over. I push started it in 2nd and drove around the block to get back on the road going home and when I got to the light it died again, so I had it towed home. I'm thinking starter for it not cranking over BUT why won't it stay running?? Going to troubleshoot what I can today. Has this happened to anyone else?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Everything is stock on it.

I would say your alternator is going bad and not charging your battery the way it should at least not at low RPMs. Hence why it'll run at higher RPMs but not at lower. That would also explain your cranking problem.

Or a simpler explanation would be a bad ground.

about on the same line as my thought... bad alternator or a loose/shaky connection somewhere along the line.

Thanks for the good advice guy's, that is exactly what I found. The main wire to the alternator was in fact completely corroded off. Luckily I have a spare complete wire harness I got through a trade from Costa and it had the exact wire I needed. now I'm recharging the battery and cleaned all remaining contacts so I'll see if that fixed the problem here in awhile....
