I'm posting this not as news, but as a reminder. 80 LUV wouldn't start after running fine the previous day. Eventually I determined that I had no spark by wiring the trigger on my timing light closed and pointing it toward the driver's seat when I cranked it. Also no light when the timing light was on the coil wire. I am lucky enough to have parts trucks so it was easy enough to sub in different coils, distributor, and spark plug wires without making any difference. I mulled it over and searched posts but it took me weeks to decide to try the FUSE BOX FIX. 30 minutes with a Dremel removing the rivets and replacing them with copper pop rivets and it started right up. I did the repair on a spare fuse box so I was able to go back to the original and test it with a Multimeter and of course that confirmed that there was no continuity between the power in to the fuse box and the power out to the regulator, which a manual pointed out also powers the coil and the fuel pump.

The thing is that I have done this fix with another LUV but even then it is hard to connect no spark with the fuse box.

If you are having any non starting problems, or any electrical issues do the FUSE BOX FIX first.

omg i really hope this is the problem with my truck it hasnt started in 2 weeks ive changed the battery,coil,wires,plugs,rotor button, and cap, like seriously first thing n the mornin im trying this thankyou u so much for posting this up
