 Post subject: Need tranny sending unit

i replace my tranny with a trooper tranny, but damaged
the one of the sending units on it. It looks like a drain plug with red
wires stick out of it. and is locaed on the side of the tranny.
my Luv is 1980 4x4
if anybody has one of these let me know.

what kind of sending unit? i know autos can have a temp sender, but on a manual? :? could it be the backup light switch?

I think its the neutral safety switch
