Alright im peicing together a complete spare drivetrain for my 80. I have a rear from my 78 but im going to have to go to the parts yard for the front end. So is there any easy way to tell the gear ratios? And is the rule that we all like to belive true(4speeds have 4.10s and autos have 4.56s)?

actually I thought it was the other way around.... manuals have 4.56, auto's and 4x4's have 4.10's

humm i guess illl have have to count up the ring and pinion teeth on my 2wds axle.
