 Post subject: 79 luv ignition issues

hey guys im new to the forum and have 79 luv 4x4. im trying to make it into a deer lease buggy. long story short i get no fire the ign. assist module shorted out. im having hard time finding parts or info . the mechanic i took it to lost the distributor. do i just need to get a new one with the point setup. any advice would be appreciated because im not elec savy for car electronics im mor of a diesel type guy

i have seen links to rebuilt factory distributors on the site. like he said use the search. everything you could imaging to search for is on this site about the luv.. thank ben for that

I believe there are some threads where they took the distributor out of a 81/82 Luv. No points on these.
