would running a stock motor with the choke full open contribute to crappy gas mileage? 2 of my screws fell out so i cant adjust it. but lately my mileage seems like crap

Choke stuck open should not give poor gas mileage, just poor driveability while it is warming up. Chances are with the screws missing it may be partial closed while you driving.
