glad to be on this forum im waiting for my new clutch cable to arrive can someone give me a tip on adjustment thank you for your time i have a 1980 4x4 luv. :D

Not much to it, just set the stop with one nut and screw the other in or out untill you have it catching about 1" from the top. Tighten them up against eachother and your done. One thing to check is where the cable goes through the firewall the cable tends to " saw " a grove in the opening. You can twist the steel sleave around so a new side is wearing on the cable. Also sometimes the tube that the cable runs through packs full of dirt and you should clean that out also. I use powered graphite in a can to lubricate anything that will pick up dirt and dust.

I replaced the clutch cable on my truck last Feb. On my truck the rubber between the two metal washers is barely touching the washers. I think you want 1/2 to 1 inch free-play before your clutch engages. If the rubber spacer on my truck was squished as much as the one in the pic I think my clutch would slip. Good or bad?
