The title says it all.

I'm looking for a replacement flare nut for a 4x4 brake line .

I understand that the line is 3/16 and the flare nut is 10 x 1.0 mm

The parts book does not identify a part number just "bulk Line"

I've ordered a metric thread file and die set--hoping to solve my situation but if it doesn't I've got to go to plan "B".

Thanks for any help.

You can purchase the metric flare nuts at most any auto parts store. If they don't have just the nuts, buy the shortest length generic brake line they have and cut it. All you need then is a flaring tool. If it is one of your steel lines that is. If it is your factory steel lines, be aware that they are annealed, and easy to split. I recommend replacing the entire line with new stuff...

I actually haven't tried to buy any, but they may not be that easy to find. They look a lot like the 3/8-24 SAE ones. Much of the newer stuff has the bubble flare style, same thread, but not right. Don't count of the help at the store to have a clue.

I got mine in packs of 5 from 2 different auto supply stores earlier this year. They were like 3 bucks a pack...

Thanks Everybody....for your help !!!!...and fast reply---Amazing !!!!!

I did an internet search at Oreilly's Auto they had in stock exactly what I needed.

I purchased new steel lines with the with the 10x1.0 mm nuts installed and a tubing bender for about $16.00.

What a deal !!!!

I had no idea that they kept that stuff "on the shelves".

Thanks Again !!!!!
