Ok. I have been thinking(scary I know) isn't the spindle the same for the drum and disc brake? Why doesn't someone make the template for the caliper mounting plate and the dimensions so a guy can just go to a machine shop with a plasma torch or laser table to cut it? Or does someone sell the caliper mounting plates? You really don't need the backing plate. The only thing you would have to worry about would be the brake line. You would have to eat the core price and have to get the different master cylinder.Anybody else have input?.

Not a lot of donor vehicles where I am at.That is why I was looking to see if anyone had made a template. Here in SD the Isuzu is not a very popular vehicle and shipping would kill me!

Yes the spindles are the same. I would run the dust shields for good measure and they may add some needed thickness as you bolt things on, I can't remember.

I think it's a cast part and you can't make it from plate only. You could have it machined from steel or aluminum if you have the drawing, which could be made if you had the part in hand. Ideal situation would be a luv trucker in school for automotive or engineering using that as a project to make a billet aluminum one or something like that.

Yes I understand you would have to use billet because if the tensile strength. You wouldn't want to hit the brakes and have the bracket bend under the stress!

Well what I meant was the part has a step in it (I think) so you can't just water jet it or laser cut it out of a piece of plate, you will have to machine it or cast it. So we're both right.
