Hello! I hope I explain the problem my husband is having with his carburetor well enough that you forum goers will be able to help. We're trying to install a weber carburetor on a 1979 chevy luv. We were able to get the old carburetor off and remove the intake manifold studs. The studs went through what looked to be a piece of plastic that was sitting between the carburetor and the gasket. We removed this plastic (broke it out actually :( ) and noticed that one of the ports (not entirely sure what these are called) has what looks to be a metal sleeve with a ridge that sat on top of this plastic piece. The adapter plate for the carburetor will not fit over this ridge. Is this part supposed to be there? If so, is it installed correctly? We're so confused and the instructions offered no help. If I can, I'll try and get a picture of it and post that. Thanks in advance for the help.
