I was thinking of incorporating the info into the site like this page. http://www.luvtruck.com/history.htm I can do the integration but I need someone(s) to write the actual article. I think you both are good candidates. Would you to both work on it together?

Of course your names will be on it, unless you don't want them on it.

I think I'm going to pull the info out of some of those .pdf's in our info section and make them web pages as well as .pdf.

^^^^

That would be a good idea because HTML pages load faster than PDF...

Some of this is my own curiosity, but I can use pretty much all of it in writing this stuff up. Here is what I'd like to know:

Rear axle ratios as listed in the service manual (fronts where applicable)
Speedo gear listings
Transmission gear ratios, unless they are pretty much all the same (which I think they are)

I think I have most everything else covered, or at least well enough to do a draft and then you can check my facts. Between the service books I have and that parts guide I can figure out most everything. I need to start collecting service manuals again, I was on a roll but my life got in the way of things.

it's 19.2 I think, it's in my dad's manual and I read it the other night too, I just didn't want to scan it and all that.

Welders, junkyards, and kind people that sell their luvs for cheap. But there are other places.

The MOST unique... Mine the 1974 LUV eh.... Why dont I see many 74's in here. My favorite part of the LUV are the rear lights (below tailgate) and the four headlights. Most luvs have only two.
When I got it I noticed the manuel choke and ebrake. Then I seen the ISUZU 1.8L and Hitachi carb. I didnt know that the earlier years were considered Datsun Pups and Chevrolet was using foreign engines, which is good because apparently the chevy engines sucked big time. First thing I did is get rid 0of all emissions 8) and cut the restrictor off the exhaust.
Currently installing 32/36DGEV Weber with fun complications. TRIAL AND ERROR IS A SONOFABITCH

74, the tail lights were below the tailgate i believe.

and 74Luver, the Luv was built by Isuzu, it was not built by Chevy using a Japanese motor. the only thing "Chevy" about it are the emblems, and badges. all of the mech. of it are pure 100% Isuzu. And no they were not considered Datsuns

on a side note, I wonder if the gas tank from a 81-82 longbed would fit on a 76-80 short bed, i sure wouldn't mind having a couple extra gallons of gas with me, would just about double the range too 8)

The 81-82 tank fits on the other side of the truck, the exhaust would be in the way. It might fit backwards on the other side though, but the length would be an issue, frame crossmember in the front and the axle on the rear side.

Would that tank fit in an older longbed?

I've never tried either swap, so I can't say for sure. I'd guess you'd have less trouble on a longbed to longbed swap, just because the length problem would not be as bad.

My idea was to swap an 86ish Trooper rear mount tank in place of the spare tire. It holds more than 20 gals, should close to triple the range if the stock tank was left in place.

now there is an idea, I already got ride of my underbed spare tire carrier (or should i say it was taken off before i got the truck) and ther is a ton of room under there, shoot an extra 20gal or gas, that means I would have a range of about 650mi, thats with a total capacity of 33 gals x an average mpg of 20 = 660mi, sweet i could get into that, only having to fill up once a month or so
