 Post subject: oil pan

how would i get the oil pan out of an 80 luv without pulling the motor oh ya its 4wd. i have it unbolted but i can't get it out the front axle is to close to it to wiggle it out so n e help will be greatly appreciated

Sorry to say the only way to get the pan out is to lift the motor. We ended up pulling out the motor in mine because it was such a hassle to try to lift the motor up high enough to get the pan out. :cry:

Hey LUVman,

That pan is a pain in the A** but do'nt fret there is an easier way...
The two mounting studs on the bottom of the front cover are the culprit,
They will unthread from the cover do that and you'll have more room and less snags, you will probobly have to rotate the motor a little to get the crank to get out of your way while getting the pan free. And if you ruin the pan ive got a spare one if you need it. Hope this helps.

P.S. Do'nt forget to get the clutch cable out of the oilpan dipstick tube
