Maybe this is the wrong section. My 76 has a sunroof, but no glass in it. Anyone know a place to get one, or is it likely custom?

What size is it?? Is it a single glass or double like mine? I know someone here that might have one if it is a one piece. Also arent there any sunroof shops (they usually tint windows too) in Tucson?? There were a few in Denver when I lived there. They might have a hook up on them.

All sunroofs were aftermarket. Best thing is to try to find the Mfr of it and try to buy the glass. You might have to buy a complete new unit, years ago may people made sunroofs with just a couple still making them.

That doesnt look like ANY sunroof frame I have ever seen! 8O
Looks more like a conversion van window frame (like a bubble window maybe) or a homeade job. Either going to have to weld in a new roof or replace that with a whole complete new sunroof.

My parents van conversion in the 70's had a frame like that. Just before the glass to rubber seal style came out, they used a glass (or plexy) in an alum. frame, to seal in another alum. frame. They leaked. They all leaked from the day they were new!!! Basically was a side bubble window installed in the roof. It was a very bad idea. I was only about 12 years old, and I was thinking, WTF???

I agree with ctmandu. That one is as old as me (cough cough). Those were the first aftermarket sunroofs available, were a pain to install, and most often leaked as I see yours has extra sealant around the frame for that reason. Best bet, go back to a solid roof (don't try to just patch the hole, rather cut the top off and replace the entire top in my opinion) or try to install a complete new sunroof which will still require some re-working of the hole. Sunroofs can be had for around $125 or so, but you get what you pay for. Quality ones are $250 on up and getting one specific for a LUV might be near impossible. Look for one with double contours (side to side and front to back) so the top dosen't get deformed causing sealing and operating problems and looking like crap. Pull the old frame to get good measurements of the existing hole and get a new roof to fit. Either way, good luck and keep us posted.
