:o Does anyone know what could cause the cylendars on a perfectly running engine to not have compression suddenly? It stopped running and no compression in any of the cylendars. I think it might be timing, but can't get enough time to look at it right now.

Take off your valve cover and check to see if cam moves when engine turns over, sounds like snapped timing chain or broken cam gear. Later  -TAZ

if it jumped time bad enough or you broke the timing chain. you have bent valves :( ...the 1.8 izuzu is a zero tolerance engine

larps right, the chain may be broken and if it is the valves will have to be replaced and you may have to redo the head as well.
