OK, so I found a replacement exhaust manifold for my 73' (from another 73') but when i got home and tried putting it in, it doesnt allow the intake manifold to sit in place. The original exhaust manifold reads: G608 and the original intake manifold: G085. The replacement manifold reads: G012 and the intake manifold that was on that truck reads: G078. I guess my question is that if i go and get that other intake manifold, will they both fit on my truck? And why is it that the exhaust manifold I found, does not allow the original intake manifold to sit where it belongs?

Look at this thread

It is about aftermarket intakes but the moral of the story is that you have to get one from the correct years...maybe the junkyard truck was a '73 body with a 76-later engine. Look at the pictures and you can tell what is going on.

On the junk yard truck, was the intake and exhaust both on the same side of the eng.? And are they the same on yours?
