i need to know the easiest way to get the oil pan out, i dropped a small bolt down where the timing chain is at, used a telescopic magnet but cant find it, need to get it out asap so i can get the truck back up and runnin

When I did the same thing on mine years ago I just dropped the pan as far as it would go, was able to stick my hand & arm through the gap & felt around until I found the bolt. It's been too long to be sure but I either added silicone to the old pan gasket or fished a new one under the crank. One thing is for sure since then, every next time I touch one of those bolts the timing chain opening is stuffed full of rags.

I did the same thing and it's been there for two years. Unless you drive upside down it'll probably stay there.

Can't you unbolt the cross member and drop the pan :?:
