I'm new to this web site and these forums, so please excuse me if this information is readily available.

I have a 1982 Chevrolet LUV with the 2.2 liter diesel. The vacuum pump is no longer working and I need to know from where I can purchase a replacement pump or to where I can send it for repair/rebuilding.

I'm not sure if when the vacuum pump goes you also need the whole alternator too. I'm pretty sure you don't. From going to a few, I know that some auto parts stores are completely worthless when it comes to getting parts for the 81/82 LUV diesel. I would try local auto parts stores for it and if you have no luck try this website: http://www.car-part.com. This site searches parts from salvage yards all over the US. Good luck man.

I found one listing for a vacuum pump, sent an e-mail requesting information regarding it and am now waiting for a reply.
