On my 75 Luv theres a cable that runs from the heater/blower assembly through the firewall and ends in the engine compartment. Its not connected to anything and the manual isnt very clear at all as to what its supposed to hook onto. Please help as I would like to finaly have a weekend/summer car that at least can defog its windows.

Sounds like the cable that controls the water through the heater hoses. It should connect to a valve on the firewall.

you don't need that.....mine never worked anyway......and I even replaced it back in 1993. after a while it gets corroded and the cable won't move it.

So it lets water pass through the heater core only when you open the valve? And without the valve it just runs coolent through the core constantly?

Yes. I have a 75 and the valve was located on the drivers side fenderwell. I , like alot of others, eliminated the valve because it leaked.
