may have to modify to make it fit stock 1.8l but not bad for 10 bucks...

Maybe somebody can answer...how to you put an aftermarket air cleaner on the Hitachi carb without a threaded stud? Because that would look sweet. On mine anyway the air cleaner bolts to the engine at the front and is held on by some kinda clamp to the carb throat. I just haven't quite worked out how to get an aftermarket one to work. I think the Webers have studs so that's much easier.

Maybe you could get a piece of flat strap about 1/4"or 5/16", make a "C" to fit the bore of carb. Drill the sides of the carb for small bolts, drill center hole and attach long stud to "C" center hole. Maybe this will help. Goodluck! I might get one for the ole' 78'. Lee
