I am trying to get the front windshield out of my truck and the rear solid window but I dont want to damage them. Can anyone help me out with some pointers on how to get them out both without damaging the glass or the rubbers. Thanks guys once again for your help with my first luv project.

No pointers as I have always had a glass shop do it for me, and everytime they said no guarantee that they could get it out without breaking it due to the curve of the glass, last time, they broke my old windshield in 3 pieces.
Anyway good luck!

Well, some good news and some bad news. The front windshield rubber has to be cut out, sorry. It fits very tight and also has plenty of adhesive on it. But you can still buy the rubber. I paid $65 for it and paid $50 to have the glass reinstalled. The back glass can be removed without damaging the rubber. Takes two people and alot of careful pushing and gentle prying. Start at the lower corner and work you way around. It also can be reinstalled with plenty of soapy water and a strong cord. Also a good friend.

Hey you need to go talk to a Parts puller that works in a junkyard, I live in Everett Washington and used to know this Dude that worked stripping Cars of all the good parts they are more carefull and knowledgeable about saving good components of cars then guys that work in new parts and repair field since the make money from saving parts . Anyway he told me of the trouble he had when he first started then it got easeyer for him he kind of told me how he does it he fishes a long piano wire thru from starting at one corner of the windshield well the wire is so long he can stand on the other side of the car and really use a lot of force pulling the wire witch is half inside and half outside toward him cutting the adhesive but not the rubber , then after the adhisive is cut he sat in the front seat and put his feet against the windshield so he could push it out , That's it in general however there is no substitute for experience , if you could find someone that does that on a regular basis you could find out details that i dont know about this job of removing a windshield i think even the rubber could be saved using this method correctly .

Thanks for the help the rubber was bad and cracked as you could guess by it being a 32 year old truck so I just cut it out I will buy a new rubber from the guys that catmandu and ben are buying the stuff from I think its only like $65 just add that to the list of things I need for my truck

yea that sturdy cord or piano string will do the job. that's how i did my back glass. but don't forget the soapy water especially if your seals are 30 years old like mine. and don't forget the good freind and make sure they have long arms. lol me and dad have short arms but my freind that sold me the truck is 6'6". long arms are nice to have when your putting a peice of glass in a freshly painted truck. :D
