Has anyone ever rewired their whole truck? If so what resources did you use to help with the rewire? When I tear it down to paint I thought this would be the best time to take this project on.

Thanks

I'm going to be buying an EZ wire harness soon too. It sounds very user friendly having each wire labeled every 5 inchs. The one thing i thought of first before removing the told harness, is figuring out the wires that go to the plug on the back of the instrumental panel. I'll be keeping the plug with a lit bit of the wire so I can wire that into the new harness.

By the way anyone that has bought an EZ, what model did you get for your Luv?
They have a 12 fuse and a mini 12 fuse kit.

I enjoy doing electrical work. I have yet to have a problem with my stock harness. I have modified my 76 (V-6) and 74 (V-8). I run the stock fuse box, add a couple new wires as needed and it works perfect.

My electrial work has been far from enjoyment. My regulator fuse keeps blowing after the truck warms up. I removed harness, couldn't find any obvious bad wires. Then had myu mechanic look over it. He solderd some wires on the harness near the postive batt. cable and aded an extra ground, and it still would not fix the problem.

I emailed EZ about the 12 vs 12 mini. They said you could expand off the 12 fuse block, but not the mini. The 12 runs $170 The mini is $155.

If I was going to spend $155 for it, I would go ahead and add in the extra $15 and get the better one. It's not like it's another $100, just $15.

When I did mine, I believe it was the 12, I also got it off of ebay for around $130. EZ is very helpful, and spent a lot of time with me on the phone making sure I had things right. The only reason I replaced my entire harness was because it had been hacked up so bad before I got it, I was blowing fuses and just got tired of trying to track all the gremlins. Just take your time with it.
