Some people just sand and paint the steel and leave it at that. It has a sharp edges robot / spaceship look to it. :D

Looks mighty fine Ctmndu!

There's white or blue foam sheet used in the building trade, 3/8" to 2" thick, used for insulation panels under roofing or siding. It bends a little, not much. Can be glued in place and if you use the thicker sheet, like 1/2" there's enough to sand it down to contours. Once sanded you can overlay with 1 layer fiberglas roving and spread on some polyesther gel coat. Gel coat can be painted of carpeted. It would still offer some crash protection I suppose and should look pretty good.

No disrespect but it looks almost like you have house plush carpet in your truck?

He is one of 2 members on here that were able to get the last two brand new remade dash pads. It's a complete foam and vinyl cover. There used to be a co. in Austrailia (spl?) that made them, but they stopped. The were expensive and shipping to USA was even more.

What about taking your dash to an upholstery shop? Maybe they could make up some bracing, and make a covering for it.

Got some ideas I'm trying out on rebuilding my dash. Will post them along with pics if one works. Might take some time though as I will be out of town next week.
