I've been an auto mechanic for almost 14 years, and forgot one of the elementary rules of working on vehicles. I recently had a long battle with my 79 LUV trying to rid it of the intermittent misfires. I stumbled upon boxes of spare ignition parts that I had forgotten about, from when I had two driving LUVs. I rebuilt the carb, which made it run great, for about 200 miles. I tried many things, but long story short, it turned out to be points that were worn out and burned up. Always check the simple things first, that's the lesson I hope y'all learn from my recent woes!
