After looking over the diagrams I just wounder if the root of the Chevy Luvs problems of running bad and stumbling and dieing is not in the ignition switch itself. I was loosing power to the anti-dieseling solenoid but it didn't blow the fuse and after really looking at the wiring diagram I called my uncle and told him what I thought. He had a spare switch from a donor Luv he said he would throw in the glove box to try if it started to run bad again. Has anyone else seen this and found it to be the ignition switch?????? :smt017 :smt017 :smt017

LOL...and a lot more. The Chevy Luv's electrical system and wiring is indeed a wondrous thing. Especially after 30 or so years of other people muckin' around in it....lol

My anti dieseling solenoid is buzzing like crazy. How would I get a new one? If I cut off the plunger, what affect would that have on my truck? I know if I remove the solenoid the engine dies and gas comes out (duh).

Tundrawolf unplug it from the wiring, Unscrew it from the carb the plunger is just laying in it so be careful not to drop it. Keep the end that goes in the carb turned up slip it away from the carb use a Q-tip and some WD-40 and clean the plunger and inside the solenoid There is a small hair size spring in the bottom of it be careful not to damage or loose it put back together and install it into the carb and see if that helps its probably got some gum build up in it. Hope this helps when I built this carb I cleaned both solenoids this way.
