electrical problems, no tail lights/dash lights. everything else works fine,i put a jumper between the hot and the tail lights and they come on, today i cleaned up all the grounds and still no tail lights any advice will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

probably a short in one of the power wires causing no power to them

On another of my vehicles I had the same problem when I bought it. I just hard wired them to a toggle switch. It's kind of a pain to flip the switch every time, but it becomes second nature, and I used a red LED switch so it's very obviously on or off.

Not necessarily recommended, but it can keep you on the road until you chase down the real problem.

thanks guys i appreciate the response, i tried 4 light switches,2 tail light harnesses,and a whole lot of cussing, took the wiring harness apart under the dash and all the way back to the tail lights and then run a seperate ground they came on went off bought some electrical connection cleaner and a dremel,everything works finally i will get to drive on thursday,thanks again
