I bid and won on an elec distrub from a 90's 2.6 will it work for my 78? I won it for 20 bucks so im not to concerned if it doesnt it only had 2 min on it when I found it so I went with it. Just wanted to see if i should be happy about it or keep looking?

Nope wont work.

The distributor you got is photo electric. It has a chopper disc in it and is designt to read light signals for an EFI computer.

Plus the shaft etc is totally different, in the 2.6L the distributor goes into the rear of the head and is driven off the camshaft.
In the 1.8L the distributor is driven off the oil pump on the front of the motor and the shaft is over twice the length.
