According to haynes manual it says for a series 5 and 6 the compression pressure should read 170.64 , with maximum compression variance of 8.53 psi. To me that sounds really high... I was thinken that they should run mid 70s . I did a compresion test on my 80 before i rebuilt it.. reading on compression#1--34lb...i didnt need to check any of the others after that!! Maybe i should check it now that i have rebuilt it...Man it is nice to have a good runing engine!! Good luck Dan.

Is the motor running bad or is it just weak power? Do you have a lot of blow back comming into your air cleaner? Is it knocking? As a general rule, if you have basicly even compression readings, you should be ok. Try adjusting your valves if you haven't done so already.
