i got home from work around 600 and its now 830 well i turned my little luv around in my back yard which is chucked full of crap and stuff of the sort and trying not to hit the luvs bed i turned the truck around which is a stick and has no power steering.. and than i blundered and didnt change the water in my raditor out when the truck was cold i had to do it when it was warm so i put new coolnat in which i got from work made my boss pay for it =) and drove it into my garge and starte to change the oil and i figured out today(1st time changeing the luvs oil ) that the bolt on the pan is a 7/8 which is a very large bolt for an oil pan and then i tried to take it off with an air rachet and it wouldnt come lose so i went and got my impact rench and hit it once and the bolt came out and a bunch of oil went everywhere and all over my face =) and right now i am in the proses of draining the oil filter and puting a new one on and than filling her back up with 10w40 ? thats what the guy at pepboys said to used cause of the oldness (even thos its only 29 years old...) if thats the wrong kind ill just change it agin and i heard from my dad its kinda hard to hurt my lil 1.8l izuze lol well off to finsish

Next time use a spanner to loosen it and your fingers to remove it.

Sounds like a pretty normal day to me fella.

10-40 or even 20-50 is fine here in so cal. with an old high mileage eng. Our winters aren't too cold. the thick stuff works good.
Just don't put the plug back on so tight and it will be easier next time.
