 Post subject: Air Adjuster?

There is something that looks like an adjuster bolt under the air filter. Does that adjust the air that comes in or, what is it for?

from my dads 74 thats to lossen or tight that thing that goes on top of the carb. in order to take it off to see the carb.

So what could that adjuster bolt be that is under the air filter cartridge?
There is a line that goes from the motor to where the air comes in. What is that line for?

I think your talking about the little adjuster screw that handles the heat riser valve. It controls the flapper valve that allows either heated manifold air or normal air to enter the motor. It's been a while since i've had to deal with one but basicly, thats how it works.

Are you guys are talking about the bolt that tightens the clamp around the carburetor throat?
