as most of you know. i started to have problems with the luv so i took it off the road and bought a new car.well when i started to have problems when my radiator hose blew. after 2 weeks of adding antifreeze i finally bought a new hose. i changed the hose and went ahead and took off all my smog and plugged all the holes. well i was running it and the exhaust smoke turned into a light gray/white color. been smoking like that for 4 months now. it smokes so bad i couldn't even get it home. it;s still sitting in my work parking lot. anybody have any anwers would help alot. :?: smog :?:

you might have a cracked head or blown gasket if you let the truck get hot from the blown radiator hose.... :(

Does the smoke have a sweet smell to it? If so, that's antifreeze. When it ran, it should have felt that a cyl was weak or missing. Were you getting crazy temp readings? all of these signs point to a head gasket problem(hopefully only the gasket) As for the emissions, That wouldn't have anything to do with it if everything is sealed off. It wont hold a good idle if it's not sealed up. Do a compression check. that will tell you if you have to pull the head or not.

that's the thing thats weird. the luv ran great. my temp gauge hasn't worked since the rebuild. the smell just smell like a car. you know that moisty smell your exhaust smells when its damp and cold out.thats what i'm getting. the head gasket was the first thing i thought of when it started to smoke.i'm not driving her now so i putting her into the garage to drop one of the trooper turbos and put the lift back on it. i'm not touchin that damn engine again. i just did a new h. gasket about 4 months ago. :x
