I have a 75 2x2 4-speed luv on a 76 luv drivetrain and chassy. I don't know whether to put a new 4-cylinder engin in like a 2.2 or something or whether to put my 350 in it. In either case how much do you think it would cost to do it with a new tranny to and what major things would I have to swap and modify. Also where can I get parts like weather stripping, dashes and stuff like that. I will have a pic for you soon :)

Your gonna get alot of comments to go with the 350. It will take some work to fit it and to upgrade systems to work with the bigger motor. Radiator and fan, bigger exhaust, Get a driveshaft built to go with the stock axle or get a axle from an S-10 and a driveshaft from a Camaro, Shifter,Ect. Basicly, if you want good gas mileage, mount a 2.2 motor in. If you want excitement, go with the 350. It will be worth the effort. As for a Dash, good luck! The only options are to put a dash cap on it or build a custom dash if you cant find a replacement. A windsheild gasket is available for around 50-55 bucks. Isuzu trooper door seals are a good replacement for the deteriorated set you now have. Anything else is junkyard quality.

Sorry, just had to be different.

A 2.2L will add a bit a pep, but a 350 will light a fire under that truck for sure. There are a lot of posts here about parts and methods for the swap, plus on the main luvtruck.com site you'll find a how to for a V8 swap under info. As for the 2.2L, there has not been a lot of people doing it, so you'll find less info. I can guess that swapping another 4 cyl will involve a lot less fab work though. If you can, I would recommend you try to pick up an entire vehicle as the donor if you go that route. It is a lot easier to just go back to your donor if you realize you forgot to grab <insert part name here> and grab it than it is to try to track down some obscure bit of kit you need to make it run.

Definitely dig through past posts on the boards here though for good tips either way.
