i bought one of those Spectre cone filters to put on my truck, and its too big to fit under the hood just clamped to the top of the carb. I went back to Autozone and got a 90 degree elbow. it fits under the hood now, but the carb and the tube are two different sizes, the carb is bigger, and it wont let the tube clamp down tight. any suggestions how to fix this?

fixed my intake... just ground a little material off the clamp, so the two sizes would fit, on another note, what makes that noise? whenever you take off it sounds like a jet engine or something. What makes that noise?

hmm... ill probably leave it alone for now, its my daily driver so i dont wanna mess things up. Do the cone filters really give you more horsepower like the ricers say?

uh huh... but only if u have a cold air intake, or relocate airfilter to a place that will push air into it. Not allot of hp just 2 or 3 extra, but every little helps. and there pretty, K&N's also give u a few extra horses.

Proof it adds hp instead of pipe to filter to more pipe to intake, its filter pipe intake. of corse it adds hp

Just for your info there are no screws that you can turn to richen the fuel it is done by changing the main jet. Don't worry about it as you did not chang things enough to make that bid a difference as you are still getting hot air in your motor anyway. As for the sound it was always there just covered up and muffled by the stock air filter housing. They were designed that way.

cool, thanks for clarifying tj. oh one more quick question, which vacuum lines can i take off and plug? i know to leave the tube to the dizzy, but since i took off the smog pump, and threw it as hard as i could, then found it and pissed on it  , what tubes can i plug? my poor engine looks like a premature baby or something with all those tubes and stuff stuck on it!
