Any interest out there in helping me dismantle a truck?

I was thinking of a Sunday in the not too distant future, several Luv'rs might come and help me strip my '78? There are some items I'll give you for your efforts, and some I'd like to keep. What I'd like to do is start about 10:00 AM and have the truck ready to go to scrap by the end of the day.

What I do have:

An area to work on it
A storage area for the parts
A desire to do this quickly
A grill
A bad back

What I don't have:
Enough tools
An air compressor
Much time
An engine stand

Just thought I'd throw this out there to see if some of you guys might show up? I can provide burgers/hot dogs, pop (byob, if you want a beer), and a list of what I'd like to keep and what's up for grabs. Anybody wanna' come out to beautiful Coburg, OR and tear apart a truck?

looks like you are about a couple hours away. I'd be willing, depends on the weekend and what/if the wife has planned.

Anything going down tonight or tomorrow? I just started my job Monday, and the first thing my boss told me was that he had a issue with a site in Coos Bay, OR, and had already bought me a ticket (before I even accepted the position 8) ). I'm supposed to land at Eugene at 1:30 or so today, but we all know how that goes. I'll be there till my flight leaves Friday. I'm traveling alone so just sitting around the hotel would suck. I got a rental and the company pays my gas, so I don't really care about distance, although it doesn't look too far.

like i said, you can't ever be sure with airlines. The flight overbooked, like usual, and I didn't get a seat. So I had to route through San Francisco. Now it's looking more like I'll land around 6:00. The bright side is I got a free round-trip ticket for the inconvienience, and a free lunch... but that wasn't really that great since my company buys all my food during travel anyway.

I would love to go, but it doesn't look like I'll be able to. The video was hilarious, and I have a camcorder that would take those kind of time-delayed videos, so it would be cool to bring and set up on my tripod, but dang, I never did it before, and Coburg is even farther from here than Salem. I want to go to Salem and meet Catman sometime, and I haven't even done that. I think my LUV's still a little young to go on a road trip of that size, and even though I'd really enjoy dismantling, I better not go. There's a lot of ya in OR, so you should get a few. Maybe if ya sprang for the beer you'd draw a crowd, but then you might not get the work done. :)

I'll think about it, though. Maybe another WA LUV'r would like to pool it?

Yes the LUV are all around, but the members who frequent this website? They are way less, and if you then add the criteria of who would help a fellow LUVver, the numbers drop even lower.

I would very much like to go...is there a Washington member who would like to ride with me, and pay for gas? Remember the date hasn't been set yet.

I'm just supprised because I am from Spring Hill/Olathe, KS, and I have never seen one driving around, besides mine. My neighbor has one, but it's a farm truck. Other than that, nothing.

That's mostly because out west here vehicles don't seem to rust away as fast.
