I don't think the location of the exhaust dumping is a legal concern so long as the noise is kept within legal decibal limits. If this isn't correct I'd be interested in knowing as well since I want to do the same exhaust set up.

i am mostly wondering about how loud, if i have headers than about 2 feet of pipe or less, then a glass pack to like 6 inches of pipe do you think it would be under the legal limit? i want to run about 2 inch or less

it all depends on your state and what they call legal

Most states would require the exhaust to extend beyond the cab or out side the bed. Texas is past the cab. My V8 dumps before the rearend.

Or they may have no requirements. A quick call to City-county-or state Cops should get the info for you. Just tell them you are redoing your truck and want to make sure it is legal

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.
