Perhaps The Blower Motor Is Going Out? I'm Not Really Sure Without Seeing WhatExactly It Is Doing.

There's a valve on the firewall run by the temperature lever on the heater console. Make sure that's working.

Your heater core might be clogged up or restricted. We just swapped one out on my son's 80 LUV. No biggie.
Check by disconnecting the hoses to the core. Attach a hose and blow through the core. It should be easy. If not ... there you go!
A good flush might help, if you make sure that a lot of clean water goes through the heater core.
A replacement for the 80 was about $45.

Good Tip That Wouldn't Hurt To Do Even If It May Not Be The Cause.
